Discover the southern California coast and explore San Diego on this excellent tour from Los Angeles.
Depart south from Los Angeles, travel along the coast of Southern California until you stop at La Jolla cove, home to a new wave of young, rich and successful people and often referred to as ‘The New Beverly Hills’. Explore the art galleries and upscale shops and admire stunning views of the rugged, curving coastline backed by steep canyons and hillsides.
The tour then continues south to Seaport Village along San Diego’s waterfront, where you’ll find shops and numerous eateries plus colorful outdoor entertainment. You’ll soon start to see why San Diego is considered such a delightful place to live.
Then board the legendary USS Midway, a genuine aircraft carrier that is now a museum. As you step onboard, you will enter a floating city at sea and walk in the footsteps of the 225,000 Midway sailors who served the US. Every admission includes a self-guided audio tour to 25 restored aircraft and 60 exciting exhibits ranging from the powerful engine room to the captain's bridge.
Afterwards, set off for Coronado Island, which is linked to downtown San Diego by the San Diego- Coronado Bay Bridge. The island is famous for its beautiful beaches, warm, sunny climate and the historic Hotel del Coronado.
Your day out ends at the ‘Old Town’, where the first European village in what is now California was founded in 1769. You will see the original settlement and some interesting historic buildings. You will also have time to visit the ‘Bazaar Del Mundo’ a market that offers souvenirs from all over the world.
